Get ready to groove with us on a whirlwind tour of world beats and tunes. Round up your friends and family, lace up those dancing shoes, and dive headfirst into a musical escapade that hops across continents, celebrating the vibrant tapestry of global cultures!
JENNIFER JADE LEDESNA is a Grammy-nominated artist from the Bronx, an alumna of New School Jazz and LaGuardia Arts. She is a Montreux Jazz Voice Competition finalist and a composer with “Betty Carter Jazz Ahead.” Jennifer performs at venues like “Aux Trois Mailletz” in Paris and “Minton’s Playhouse” in Harlem.
She has sung at Carnegie Hall and participated in the World Premiere Tour of “CHAPEL/CHAPTER” with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co. Her international performances include Switzerland’s CHORUS Jazz Club, Norway’s “Silda Jazz Fest,” and Austria’s PORGY & BESS.
Jennifer has collaborated with renowned artists such as David Amram and Wynton Marsalis. Recently, she starred as Tempest in the film “SINCE I LEFT YOU” and “Tinima” in the opera-musical “HATUEY: MEMORY OF FIRE!” After touring France, Brazil, Argentina, and the Dominican Republic, she released “VOX HUMANA” with Bobby Sanabria’s Multiverse Big Band.

Grab a blanket and come enjoy a movie in a neighborhood park or playground! This summer, NYC Parks will host family-friendly movie showings across the five boroughs.
One week after Judy and Nick become official partners in the Zootopia Police Department, their clashing personalities threaten to end their partnership when Chief Bogo warns they must resolve their differences.
Movies begin at dusk. This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Kids Shows: CityParks Foundation PuppetMobile
Join us Wednesday for our first entry of 2026 in our free Kids Shows series!
Pinocchio and Gepetto’s Big Apple Adventure
During the 2026 season, the PuppetMobile will present a fresh take on the classic fairytale Pinocchio written by Julia Darden and directed by Bruce Cannon, with set design by Zlata Godunova and costume design by Charlie DelRisco.
In this new telling, Geppetto is a New York City kid with a talent for invention, going as far as creating a robot friend in the form of Pinocchio. The story follows the pair as they tour around classic locales, from the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park to the Victorian Gardens Amusement Park, and the hijinks they get into along the way.
The production features hand-made marionettes crafted by Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre puppet builder Kevin White. In addition to the artistry of the production, viewers will be treated to original songs written and orchestrated by Daryl Kojak performed by the marionettes.

Help us remove invasive vines from the Orchard Beach Meadow.
Meet at the southeast corner of the parking lot (by the NYPD trailers).

New York City is home to an amazing abundance of wildlife. The Urban Park Rangers will guide you to the best wildlife viewing spots in the urban jungle. The Long Island Sound is home to a vibrant harbor seal community that overwinters in the warmer waters. Join the Urban Park Rangers to witness the harbor seals in their natural habitat off the shore of Orchard Beach and learn about these incredible marine mammals and their fascinating behaviors.
Come a little early for hot chocolate to keep your hands warm!
Friends x Urban Park Rangers: Birding: American Woodcocks
Join the Urban Park Rangers on an evening nature walk at Pelham Bay Park to learn all about the wacky world of woodcocks Also known as the Timberdoodle; Woodcocks take the skies at night with dazzling corkscrew flight patterns and charming vocalizations.

Miss the magic of the drive-in movie? Or maybe you were too young to experience it? Join us in the Orchard Beach Parking Lot for a free screening of Grease on a very big screen!
Check out food trucks, games, and fun activities before the movie!
This event starts at 7 pm, but be sure to arrive before 8:15 pm. There will be no entry after 8:15 pm. You don't want to miss the movie!
Buses will run after the movie to take you to the 6 train (at the Pelham Bay Park Station). No car required!

Riviera Nights: Silent Disco
Are you looking for a sweet night out? Dance the evening away at Orchard Beach! Silent Disco comes to the rink area at Section 4: don headphones and pick the music. We'll have three channels, including a live DJ. Choose your favorite and dance the night away!
Feel free to bring your own music and headphones, but only the headphones we have will be able to tune into our DJs.
Headphones are first come, first serve.
You will need a photo ID to leave as collateral for the free headphone rental.
Free parking after 7 pm. Bus to the #6 train available after the disco.
Movies Under the Stars: Sonic the Hedgehog 3
