Urban Park Rangers: Indigenous People Day: The Siwanoy

  • Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum 895 Shore Road The Bronx, New York, 10464 United States (map)

Pelham Bay Park was once inhabited by small camps of coastal native people loosely referred to as the “Siwanoy” or “Southern People”. The Siwanoy traded along a route similar to the path of the Siwanoy trail. Hike with the Urban Park Rangers along this historic route and learn about the Siwanoy’s history and way of life.
